About JRC Glove:

James Churchill sold his first deerskin work gloves out of Centralia, Washington in 1895. The men buying them worked with their hands. The gloves had to hold.

That standard has remained: JRC Glove still cuts and sews in Centralia, sorting every American whitetail hide by weight and color before a single cut is made. Stitching runs on lockstitch machines, which hold up when a thread breaks, not the chain-stitch machines that unravel from a single failure. Most gloves made today are chain-stitched, and shipped from overseas.

We proudly sell JRC deerskin gloves because of their commitment to quality and American craftsmanship.

Common Questions:

Why 150 grams of Thinsulate specifically? 150-gram Thinsulate is recommended for very cold conditions where activity levels are low to moderate, the sweet spot for most outdoor work situations. It delivers serious warmth without the stiffness and bulk of heavier gram weights that sacrifice dexterity.

How does this compare to the Sherpa-lined version? Both are serious cold-weather gloves. The Thinsulate lining is thinner and more technical — it delivers equivalent or greater warmth with less bulk, making it better for work requiring hand dexterity. The Sherpa lining has a warmer, plush feel and is slightly bulkier. For most working applications in cold weather, the Thinsulate is the right call — which is why it's our best seller.

Is this glove waterproof? Deerskin is naturally water-resistant and handles light moisture extremely well. It is not fully waterproof — for sustained wet conditions, treat with a leather water repellent. The Thinsulate lining is moisture-resistant and maintains warmth even when slightly damp.

Will these work for hunting? Absolutely — this is one of the most popular hunting-season gloves in our lineup. Natural tan color, quiet deerskin shell, serious cold-weather warmth, and enough dexterity to operate equipment, release safety mechanisms, and handle gear.

Are these actually made in the USA? Every pair, cut and assembled in the United States. JRC has been manufacturing deerskin gloves using wild-harvested North American deerskin since the company's founding, not assembled here from overseas components. Made here, start to finish.

How do I care for them? Spot clean with a damp cloth. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap if needed — lay flat or hang to dry away from direct heat. Condition the deerskin shell occasionally with a natural leather conditioner. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

What if they don't fit? We offer a wide size range specifically because fit is everything in a work glove. Use the palm measurement guide above before ordering. If you're between sizes, size up for a lined glove.
